Trainee Reflections
Residents and medical students have the option to rotate through our department
to learn more abut the research process. Read some of their reflections.
Rachael Houchins, MD
The biological research department not only allowed me to develop my interest
in research, but also provided me with the opportunity to find mentors and engage
in discussion with them on multiple topics including research, academics, and
social interests.
The department allows for a unique mix of high profile clinical trials, smaller
resident based research, and exposure to patient interviews, research and assessment.
Working with Dr. Narasimhan and her staff pushed me to master skills of time
management, interaction with other disciplines, knowledge of the world of clinical
research, and the application of these to residency training.
Sarah Beth Bailey
